What we collect through this website, why, and how you can ask about it.

Note for the site owner: this page is a plain-language draft and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified professional before relying on it.

Fredericton Property Rental ("we") operates this website and is based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

  • Rental applications: your name, email, phone number and the details you give about yourself, your household, income and references.
  • Viewing bookings: your name, email, phone number, the property and the time you choose.
  • Inquiries: landlord, purchase and contact forms collect your name, email, phone number and the details in your message, such as a property address, number of units or budget.
  • Technical data: your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated form submissions and keep the site secure.

Why we collect it

We use this information to respond to you, assess applications, arrange viewings, prepare leases, manage properties and keep records of our dealings. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

  • LedgerLot: when a lease is prepared and signed, relevant applicant and property details are entered into LedgerLot, the service we use for lease signing.

  • Hosting and database providers: companies that host this website and store its data. Their servers may be located outside Canada, so the information may be subject to the laws of those places.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and for record-keeping that tenancy or business rules require. Unsuccessful applications and unanswered inquiries are not kept longer than necessary. [Owner: confirm the specific retention periods you will follow.]
